Qype Review: Bar Louie (Ann Arbor, MI)

The following review was written for Qype, a networking website where people from around the world share their honest feedback of places they go and sights they've seen.

Here is my review of Bar Louie, located in Ann Arbor, Mich.:

Sadly, I do not have a photo to upload with my review. As I was crossing the street on my way to Bar Louie, I was gathering my camera and getting ready to snap a quick shot of the sign as we walked in to the hip Ann Arbor bar, located near the University of Michigan.

Concentrating more on picture taking than walking, I somehow fell and nearly broke my camera and knees in the process! The things I do for Qype…

As for the real review now…

Once I got inside the bar, I immediately checked out the restroom situation and the damage done to my knees. The restroom was very clean-- and not just by bar bathroom standards-- and my right knee was scraped up and burning from hitting the uneven pavement of Division Street.

A big glass of bud light cured everything though, and the soft pretzels served with honey mustard, queso dip and mustard are to die for. I love soft pretzels anyway, but these pretzels are very bread-like… which means they go great with alcoholic beverages!

Our waitress was friendly and did her job quite efficiently. Although, sometimes she did her job too efficiently, bringing my friend a second round she had not even ordered!

The crowd ranged a bit in age, but mostly the crowd was young-- age 21 and up, University of Michigan students obviously make up some of the bar’s patronage.

Customers hung around the U-shaped bar or filled high-top tables scattered throughout the bar’s open space.

Bar Louie has a fun atmosphere, young crowd mostly in their 20s and a large selection of beers on tap.

I’d go there again hands down, though hopefully not quite so literally next time!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars!
